Mission 7: Cold mornings, tough terrain and great company.
📅 Friday July 18 - Sunday July 20 2025
Mission 7 Overview
110 Deer Culled
98 Deer Recovered
645kgs wild venison mince
150kgs dog bones to Bilbo’s Dog Rescue
Half the crew, but full commitment. Last weekend, the Hunt for Good team pulled off another solid mission despite some pretty rugged conditions.
After a health and safety briefing Friday morning, teams were dispatched into the hills. Wet tracks and steep terrain meant keeping to safer ground and staying sharp. Two teams carried out a night recon, walking any sketchy patches. Another crew joined James Marshall for a minor cull nearby, big thanks to James and his team for that opportunity, which helped get things rolling with 24 deer.
By Saturday night, we’d reached 69 deer. One last late-night push brought us to 110 deer culled, with 98 recovered.
Sunday was full-on. The crew got stuck into processing: skinning, boning, and breaking down each carcass with care and purpose. No one stopped until the job was done.
This mission brings us to a total of 7.6 tonnes of wild venison mince donated, that’s over 51,469 servings to date.
As always, the highlight wasn’t just the numbers, it was the people. The teamwork, the focus, the grit. Everyone had a role, and everyone showed up.
Big thanks to the whole crew, James Marshall, and everyone who backed this mission.
