Honouring Those Who Make a Difference: Bayleys Celebrates Hunt for Good
We had an incredible night at Bayleys Country at Five, where the spotlight turned to our crew - a team doing more than just hunting. Together, we’re transforming wild game into meals for communities that need it most.
The event celebrated our volunteer team and the heart behind what we do. Hunt for Good is a local non-profit that culls deer and donates wild venison to food banks and community groups across the Bay of Plenty and beyond. Our mission is simple — protect the whenua, feed the whānau, and bring people together.
We were humbled to have Bayleys take a moment to recognise that mission and shine a light on our volunteers. Their support, both through sponsorship and this event, means a lot to us.
Since we started, our crew has grown from 15 to more than 60 volunteers. Each one of them plays a part in what’s now become a real movement. Together, we’ve culled 1,200 deer and produced over 8,600 kgs of wild venison mince, that’s more than 58,000 servings of high-quality protein going straight to Kiwi families who need it most.
On top of that, our volunteers have clocked up more than 3,700 hours in the field, in the sheds, and behind the scenes, all driven by a shared purpose.
As founder Jasper Osborne put it,
“If we can turn that into a protein source for hungry people, then it’s really a win-win.”
His words summed up what the night was all about, gratitude, purpose, and community.
We’re proud to stand alongside organisations like Bayleys, who not only recognise the work being done but help it grow. Together, we’re proving that small actions, when backed by good people, can make a big difference.
